Mead Making for Beginners: A Comprehensive Guide To Mead Recipes for Homemade Honey Wines

Beginner's Guide to Delicious And Tasty Mead Making
Mead is a fermented alcoholic beverage that is traditionally made with just honey and water, and maybe some yeast (wild yeast is often used). it is beautiful honey, mixed with water and fermented with yeast. It can also be flavored with herbs, fruits, spices, or hops. Well that depends on the Mead. Just like wine, it can be sweet or dry, still or sparkling. It can be made with fruit, flowers, vegetables, herbs and/or spices. And it doesn't always taste of honey. If you have tried mead before and weren't that keen, try a different one. Just like beers and wines, there will be one for which you have a preference.

Making mead (also known as "honey wine") at home is straightforward, easy & fun. It's a fermented beverage made simply using honey, water & yeast. Each batch of homemade is a unique reflection of the honey used. To get a nice clear mead, the easiest method is to let it age until it's clear. The unwanted haze can be the result of suspended yeast particles, protein or polyphenols. Adding clarifiers can help to eliminate the haze. Clarifiers bond to these particles and precipitate them out. You can use Bentonite or Sparkalloid which are agents that you put in your mead to accelerate the clearing process.
