Faith Jones, a woman in her mid-thirties, has given up on ever finding love again until she met her son's best friend, Darius. Faith Jones is walking a thin line of betrayal against her son for the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
That's right it's a page turner! Move over Stella, Faith got her groove back and didn't have to go on an expensive azz vacation to do it. Many sistas will be able to relate to Faith better than Stella, as she is just a regular round the way girl that tried to better herself in life. How many of us are blinded by puppy love and find ourselves growing apart from them. This type of love is immature and baseless, the type that doesn't pay the rent, the type that keeps holding us back from success, yet we keep holding on to it because it's all we know. Faith Jones did just that, she finally grew away from one bad relationship only to find herself in a desperate uncompromising disposition that led her to a worst. How often do we as sistas constantly push away the "to good to be true" brotha, and settle for the "familiar" bad boy when we know damned well that passion in itself is not enough to carry us threw life. Thank God the author allowed us to see Faith Jones wake the hell up and tell ourselves we are worthy of a "real man" and stop playing around with these little boy-going-no-where-relationships. I kept my fingers crossed the entire book, saying, I hope this chick does't allow this good man (Kael)get away. Kael is what every woman needs, but too afraid to allow herself to love. We have a tendency to tell him and ourselves that he is too good for us, and that we are not worthy of this type of love. Hallelujah sistas, Faith can inspire us all to realize that we "are" worthy of real love, and No man is "too good" for us, for we deserve this! Finally a book that explores black relationships from this angle. Therapeutic, If Faith can get her a good man, you can too, just stop pushing him away, they all won't be as patient as Kael! Well written plot, you get to know each character well and how they are related to the main characters. Excellent climax, one of those pull out a cigarette type, especially when she gets busted by her son, and Darius busts his brother, and Corey literally busts D's azz. And lets not forget the "and they lived happilly ever after" classic ending. Well written KMT!
A fresh voice in urban romance
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 19 years ago
"Me & Mrs. Jones" is a fresh voice in urban romance. Filled with attention-grabbing dialogue, descriptions, and characters, it traces the baffling search of Faith Jones, a young mother whose life has been risked through her jailed husband, for love and romance. Her care for her teenage son, Corey, is at odds with her attraction to her son's best friend, Darius. Her struggle to right herself in all ways after surviving a violent, drug-laced beginning is paralleled by her son's struggle to get through college and Darius' struggle to qualify for college by passing his MCAS. "Me and Mrs. Jones" alternates viewpoints mostly between Darius and Faith, but instead of being confusing, this technique ends up enhancing the pace of the already action- packed narrative. It is a video-reminiscent technique, and very full of "punch." The erotic imagery and the drug use descriptions are gritty and solid. "Me and Mrs. Jones" has subject matter that may not appeal to all readers, but once begun, readers will be unable to put it down. It is a novel about the struggle for stability in an urban setting, with genuine flashes of heroism. I look forward to more novels by K. M. Thompson.
Way to go cuz!

I am inspired to keep on with my own writing. Dreams can come true if you believe and never cease praying to Man above. Keep up the good storylines cuz, especially those relevant to today's issues. It's good seeing things out there that some people claim they are ready for but really aren't. The truth is the light! To anyone pondering whether they should get this book, let me warn you...it's not because it's my cousin. It's really good. And it's looks like nothing but raunchy material from the cover but it's not. Take a chance and be enlightened.
Excellent!

Faith has been alone a long time and with Cory getting ready for college Faith feels the emptiness. Faith is also starting to notice Darius, Cory's best friend in a way she hasn't before. After a sudden intimate kiss with Darius Faith can't keep that boy out of her head. As for Darius, he is definitely feeling Mrs. Jones. The heat rises and the passion sparks for Faith and Darius as they can't seem to stay away from each other and try to hide it from Cory. To add to the Drama comes Kael, the handsome got everything going for him man Faith needs and wants if she can just leave Darius alone. This story is hot enough to burn! A great debut effort

Sex, betrayal and deception make this story a great one. Darius is smooth and cunning and he deserved everything he got at the end. What goes around comes around.
