Me and Jesse - Me and Danny describes the adventures and misadventures of two ten-year-old boys living in a small western Iowa town. The stories are told by the two best friends, and are spiced with fantasy and a wild imagination that takes the boredom out of growing up in a small town. A strange character enters the picture, turning camping, swimming, fishing, and ordinary exploration into adventures and mysteries to be solved. The two precocious pre-teens face a ghost, kidnapping gypsies, escaped convicts, and a mysterious salesman with a suitcase full of surprises. The author challenges the reader to distinguish facts from fiction as he adds a few of his own childhood stories and wild imagination to the mix.
