Unlike most of the other reviewers, I thought that this was an excellent book. The order of content was well laid out. There may have been a few silly mistakes(there are in most books), but an intelligent person could figure them out. I highly recommend this as your first book on the subject.
Outstanding reference

Unlike some of the readers who reviewed this book. I highly recommend it for the clear and concise information presented. I would not use it as a sole reference but in conjuction with another reference. Some answers in the book are incorrect (not many) but this is also the case in several of the highest rated books!! As a result, I passed the cert. exam on the first try. Enjoy
This is the best $25 I've spent in quite some time

If you are preparing for the MCSE exams, the "Dummies" books are well worth the investment. I took the Microsoft classes and have the official Micrsoft text, but it was this book that put me over the top, (I passed on the first attempt). It is concise in covering exactly what you need know for the exams, and weeding out the surplus information found in the Microsoft curriculum. You will still need the official Microsoft text to pass, but this saves considerable study time.
909 on the NT Server 4.0 Exam using this book - alone.
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
Bottom line on any certification book, you're going to get out of it exactly what you put into it. That said, this is a very good preparatory book for the NT Server 4.0 exam. It offers complete and concise coverage of the topics needed to pass the exam. In fact, after reading this book, I merely reviewed the domain and group structure of NT out of the Dummies NT Server 4.0 Enterprise book, and I was able to pass my Enterprise exam with a score of 901. Not all of the Dummies MCSE series seems to be this good, but I was thoroughly impressed with this one. Overall, the information was well presented and explained. Mistakes were few and far between, the editing, however, could certainly be improved upon.
A good overview of the MCSE Server exam.

The book offers a good overview of the MCSE server exam. Some of the other reviewers here have slammed the book as being full of errors. I think the Microsoft exam had more errors that this book. What this book does do is give the reader a good overview of what they should and should not study. As with all of the exams, you should never rely on a single source to prepare yourself. Always read at least TWO different prep guides! One note: This book covers the OLD exam format and thus is not as helpful as some newer guides or computer based training exams such as Transcender.
