MCSE Administering SQL Server 7 Exam Prep by Brian Talbert
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
I thanked god for this book! I took the SQL Admin 5 day Microsoft training course. It was no help at all. I purchased the SQL Exam Cram book, but very little help. This was my last exam to pass the MCSE course and I thought I had made a big mistake in taking this elective until I found Administering SQL Server 7 by Exam Prep. I am now an MCSE. Thank you Brian Talbert.

This book explains SQL admin stuff in good detail and step by step. It almost covers all the exam material (except full-text search). If you feel you miss something for specified topic even after reading this book, review that topic in SQL book online. This book + review the SQL Book online = Pass this exam
Fabulous!

Great book! This book provided EVERYTHING I need to pass the exam and also provide lots of real world advice. I think this book would stand alone as a general SQL Server administration guide. The practice questions were right on the money!
Great discussion of concepts

The discussion of "core" concepts in this book was extremely well written and insightful. This is definitely not a stand-alone book for those interested in the inner workings of SQLServer as they relate to designing and optimizing databases. Rather, it gives a great foundation for moving on to those subjects through clear coverage of the data storage and architecture models as well as many of the great monitoring tools available to SQLServer7. All-in-all, this book is a great starting place for building an understanding of SQLServer and its underlying architecture.
Highly recommended!

This book more than prepared me to take my SQL server exam. Not only that, I use this book on an almost daily basis during my day-to-day operations of managing several SQL servers as the backend of a major e-commerce web-site.I recommend this book to anyone who wishes not only to pass the exam, but just to learn SQL server or to have an invaluable resource to be used on the job. A big thumbs up to Brian Talbert for providing a clear, concise roadmap for those of us wishing to attain the highly lauded MCSE. I will impatiently await your next book.
