This "Fast Track" title covers the Windows NT Server 4 core exam for the MCSE. Sample test questions help candidates learn what they need to know to pass the test. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have never seen so much information packed into so small a package. This book was everything it claimed to be - and it contains every salient point that can be found in book sets costing 10 times as much. What it lacks is the miscellaneous information you skip past anyway when studying for an exam - think of it as the Reader's Digest Condensed version of any large study guide.
A unique approach...

The "Fast Facts Review" chapter is a summation of everything else in the book. Knowing NT well, I was able to just read that chapter. If you don't know NT so well (which I then question why you're taking this exam) then you can read the rest of the book and fill in the holes in your knowledge.
The serious student's dream.

Being recently "right-sized" out of an administrator's position I held for the last 8 years, I found that the job market wants MCSEs first and experience second. I had and have the experience - what I did not have was the piece of paper to get me past the HR department.Anyone who has been "right-sized" probably can understand that the money wasn't flowing in after the fact the way it was before. I wanted a self-study solution that would not talk down to me and teach me things I did not know even though I had daily contact with the product.I bought and returned two other self-study NT books before buying this one. They were so full of fluff and errors that I got a headache just trying to read them.I won't be returning this one, but I will be returning to the site to buy the other books I need from this series.
Five stars only because Amazon won't let me give ten.

I took a class on NT Workstation through an ATEC in the summer, then waited three months before taking - and failing - the exam. As I went back through my notes from the class it was apparent that even if I took the exam the day after the class, I still would have failed.... there just wasn't enough corelation between what was in the course and what was on the exam.I was on the verge of forgetting about it when I saw another person using this book to study for the exam. I'd already wasted close to $2k, so what was $16? That $16 was the best investment I've ever made.
Excellent summary

If you need intro to computers, this is the wrong book for you. But if you need intro to computers, you better not be studying for this test anyway. You get the facts you need to know without all the other garbage. This helps you focus your study and move on.
