The essential guide

I am very surprised by some of the reviews on this book. The authors can not pass the examination for you but they can give you an idea of what to expect. This text does just that. It really does hit the mark. New Riders Press do need to edit their material better and address why so many of their supplied test prep software applications have major bugs. Nonetheless, this is an excellent guide.Well done to the authors.

A decent book if without typo

I have passed the exam and wholy depend on the "book for suckers". my score 916. i read that book cover to cover three times in 14 days. that is the only thing i have for preparing the exam. if you know access a little bit and just want a book for exam. this one is a good choice. sure, there are a hell lot of typos, but most are apparent and you know what the poor author is tring to say. the author, although not a mcsd, really know a lot about 70-69.

Flawed, but it got me thru the Exam!

I used this as the core of my training efforts and it worked. Yes, the typos are awful -- you must download the errata (which corrects many of them), and the lab exercise databases from mcp.com, but this is one of the very few TRAINING manuals out there -- I made extensive use of testprep software (study question version) and the practice exercises were essential to building my skills so I could pass. I definitely would recommend this book to others studying for the exam. If you want a beginner's introduction, start with a simpler book.

Comprehensive, easy-to-read, but full of printing errors

It is obvious when you go through this text that there was no proof-reading before this book was shipped. It has many typos and printing errors (some of which make the practice exam questions inaccurate). Despite that, it is comprehensive and easy to read. There is not much else available for exam 70-69!
