For Carolyn -McQuillan- McNellis, her eight children, 26 grand children, and, for the moment, two great grand children, 'McQuillan's Family Fare' has been a thoroughly entertaining mix of healthy food, sharing & creating recipes, and raising kids; all around any one of the family's kitchen islands (we call it 'Island Hopping'). Carolyn and her kids genuinely welcome everyone to their kitchens whether it's Sunday brunch or one of the holiday get-togethers. Lastly, from all the conversations around the different islands, I always write down humorous quotes or 'Carolysms' that are said during the year. I have listed the very best of them on most of the recipe pages. Though there's always a story behind each quote, you can see Grammy (Carolyn) in almost each one.
