Higher Ed: A Tragicomedy in Three Acts
Universities have now entered a doom-loop where less and less is taught, at ever-higher cost. Nuts, crooks, and anarchists all run wild as the intellectual achievements of the ages are demolished and wisdom is squandered. Politicians, parents, taxpayers, faculty, and students are angry, but complacent college administrators happily fiddle while Rome burns. The situation is unsustainable.
Higher Ed has swiftly transformed from its austere origins to a sybaritic Club Ed where literacy is just an option - but entertainment and sports are sacred, and the football coach is paid millions while the teaching is mostly done by starving serfs with PhDs, known as adjuncts. Wokeness is all, and the more elite the campus, the worse it gets.
These three volumes look at the campus respectively as: a maladapted corporation, a zoo of human follies, and a haven for illicit or criminal activities.
