Much like the color mauve was discovered by accident, Maritza Holley is a poet that stumbled onto her poetic gift by accident. She discovered that she was gifted at poetry and rapping through class assignments. She began writing poetry often as a teenager while attending Savannah State University. Her first poetry book entitled 'Poetry as the Ultimate Cure' was never published due to her becoming a Christian. Once becoming a Christian Maritza decided that she no longer wished to share poems with vulgar language with others. Mauve is filled with poetry that the everyday person can relate to. With a goal of being relatable, inspiring, comforting, or even bringing insight, Mauve is the first project of many to come.
