Reality of Island Life Depicted Through Fiction

Wow, I live here on Maui and have lived in many places and I am thrilled to see such real life characters at work trying to destory each other...it is true, the island will take you in and love you or spit you out...Rosie really gets hers in the end, and I love how the characters visit beautiful places and attend events that are real. No fiction about it. Hey, this island really does have "whispers" and those whispers destroy people like any small town. The beauty of the island, and the love she has for those she takes in, well it is all here. I loved the description of the Taro Festival, and Hana and the camping trip into the basin of the dormant volcano Haleakala. Great stuff. Congratulations Mr. Olson, and thanks for a great read.

Perfect getaway reading

This fast-paced story is a perfect getaway -- I became a willing traveller to the characters, sights and sounds of Maui. It had all the right elements...love, intrique, adventure, even some spiritual lessons. Now all I need is a ticket to see this bit of paradise in person!
