For most, life is a series of seasons. The hard winter is in fair exchange for the inevitable warmth of the spring, when all things seem possible and some good and cheer can be realized.

So it was with Rob Gregory and Pamela Freeman, whose lives converge one summer night in a tavern in the little town of Minster, Ohio. It was a meeting of chosen opportunity, leading to decades of moments of possibility alternating between promise and regret.
