Mathematics Setting and Marking Scheme Creator

A marking scheme is a tool used by the teacher to help him/her aces students. It helps him/her to distribute marks to a question depending on the questions set. It helps the teacher to aces the students quantitatively and to grade them as per their ability in the given examination. The research project encompassed identifying factors that contribute to the slow marking of exams in mathematics and poor performance of students in the subject .This encouraged me to come up with a model system which is faster and interactive, the model can be used by teachers and can equally be useful to students when practicing on their own without the help of the teacher. Being a quantitative research, interviews and observations were adopted as the main data collecting tools in attempt to capture the facts and the user needs in the light of the stake holders. The model results were qualitatively in agreement with the mathematics teachers results. This proves the usefulness of the model as a possible management tool in monitoring the marking of mathematics and any other science subject.
