Great Resourse

I teach 8th grade math, and when a child asks a question (What are complimentary angles?), I hand the book to them to find the answer. By getting the answer on their own, they can "see" and understand the answer. My students have loved this book. I buy extras, used, when I find them to have on hand in the classroom. The students are allowed to take them home for a day or two.

Great reference and supplemental practice book

We are homeschooling our first- and fifth-grade children this year and purchased all the elementary books in this series: "Math To Learn", "Math On Call", and "Math At Hand". They are excellent! When we're not sure what a term means, we can look it up. If one of the kids needs additional practice or an explanation from a different perspective, we can use these books. If we want a thorough discussion of a concept, it is here. These are essential books for the homeschoolers' library, along with their companion "Teacher's Resource Books". If our kids were still in school, I'd want them even more, because they offer enrichment, clarification, and practice that the parent can provide for the child...and you could even help your kids move beyond the school's pace. I can't recommend them highly enough!

Well thought out and written

This series of Math books is great for student and for parents explaining math to students. I am very pleased with the purchase.

A Great Set of Handbooks

I found out about this series at one of my Professional Development conferences. Math to Learn, Math to Know, Math at Hand, Math on Call, and Algebra and Geometry to Go are great reference tools for kids AND parents from grades 1- 12. Problem Solving methods are demostrated in multiple ways, vocabulary is given in the glossary, and daily examples are used throughout. I use this book in my math classroom to help students and parents understand concepts. I only wish I had enough copies to send home for every parent at the beginning of the year.
