Math Manual: For SAT Prep, College & University Prep and Being Confident Entering Post-Secondary Math Courses

Originally, this book was published to assist students in preparing for the American SAT math component. Based on feedback, it has shown to be a helpful, efficient reference book for many students who wish to brush up on their core math skills and increase numeracy abilities and become more comfortable and confident with math in general. Math can be fun, it just takes time to master it. This book aims to help.

For SAT prep students:
Math Manual is one of the most efficient, direct ways of preparing for the SAT math component. The SAT can sometimes be mistakenly interpreted as more difficult than in reality, which can often leave the student with no confidence and full stress. Relax You have a few advantages breaking your way. The first, is that the curriculum of the math section does not change. There are no new topics, nor attitudes that shift, nor even a change in language. You could write a test this year, or in 1983, and you could very well see the same question appear. To math folks, we call this a finite amount of material. There is a limit to what you can be tested on Even better, the limit is nothing extraordinary. With sensible prep, you can do this. Yes, you. Second, the math sections do not test your ability to grind out equations and crunch endless strings of numbers on your calculator. In fact, you could very well write the test without a calculator. (But I don't recommend that.) Don't forget - the SAT is administered to hundreds of thousands of students every year. And these results must be comparable from year to year. Which means that the scores from each year's crop of students should replicate the previous years. This narrows the framework from which the College Board can write the test. Finite material, right? Finally, you have this book, and most important of all, your will to succeed. Henry Ford was bang on when he said the following: "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't - you're right." So now you know. It's time to set up a study space. Grab pencils, a pad of paper, find a good table and chair with no distractions. Turn off your phone. Not silent, off. Social media and text messages can wait. This is more important, because you are not going to be someone who just writes the test, but somebody who writes the test and does well. That distinction makes all the difference on this test, and in the greater scheme of life after college. Good luck. Work hard.
