Studies on traditional medicine for migrants in Italy are not very numerous; the interest of experts in fact focuses rather on more obvious and emergency-related issues (health of migrants, contact with the health system, intercultural communication), forgetting the aspect of medical pluralism and the existence of alternative therapeutic resources. Maternity, on the other hand, is a theme much coveted by anthropologists of migration, since it constitutes a fertile ground for confrontation on themes that are not exclusively medical, but rather related to symbolic representations and other cultural aspects. The work I have undertaken will follow the exchanges between Moroccan immigration, the use of traditional medicines and maternity.
