In its Fourth Edition, this encyclopedic text of operative surgery complements standard textbooks by concentrating on the decision-making process and operative technique. This new edition includes thoracoscopic procedures and increased coverage of laparoscopic procedures. Over 250 authorities walk the reader through the procedures and offer recommendations to relevant literature. "Pearls" are scattered throughout the text and editorial comments are added at the end of each chapter to provide additional insight for the resident. No comparable text on the market offers this combination of comprehensive coverage and authoritative commentary.
This is the surgical guide for more senior residents. Concise and comprehensive, I review it prior to nearly every case.
Great text

This book is absolutely essential for any general surgery resident. What makes it so highly valuable is that it has online access and therefore a resident can spend any downtime before a case reading online and reviewing for the case to be performed. This book, and its online access, will ensure that you don't go into any cases "cold".
An excellent resource

I think this book is an excellent resource for surgery residents. It gives you valuable information on theoretical knowledge on different diseases, preoperative planning, postoperative management and surgical techniques. Expensive but worth the price.
