This book includes four screenplays by four of France's leading film directors, illustrating the development of French film-making from the silent era to the birth of the new wave movement in the late... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I have seen “The Lady Vanishes” (1938), and it is worth reading the screenplay first. There are several screen versions, but the worst is (2013), where they mangle the story.
As for Brief Encounter and the Laurence Olivier version of Henry V, I have the movies, and this book adds to the enjoyment of watching.
They say that Henry V was chopped up because of the war effort. I just thought he was being cheap; however, this book supports his decision to send a strong message to the people of Britain.
There are introductions and notes on the film, along with quite a few relevant stills from the movies. There are even movie directions.
