Boring soap opera with a tad of forensics sprinkled in.

Yep, this is just as soap operatic as General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, All My Children, and similar shows. They throw in a bit of fake forensics now and then to keep you interested.
Between dull domestic issues, they include Shirley Cross (Cherie Lunghi, born on April 4, 1952), who isn't a great actress, hence the title “Unforgotten.” It's a kind of euphemism for Cold Case bodies. Don't worry, she's only in 5 of the 42 episodes so far. But it took 5 episodes to tell one story.
It's always filled with loud or piano-tinkling music that drowns out the dialogue. This makes you keep adjusting the volume repeatedly.
British forensics and police are common, so you probably won't want to start with this one.
I can tell you that some viewers stuck with it, and almost everyone dropped out during certain seasons and episodes. Shows that they had perseverance.
