A Good Workmanlike Bible Edition for Individual and Group Study

This edition of the NIV (New International Version) of the Bible is designed for use by men and men's small groups as a resource to develop spirituality and fellowship through regular study. The margins of each page are filled with an outline of questions and topics for individual and group study. The center of the Bible has a section that contains 60 topical studies on such issues as parenting, marriage, living with teens, abuse and recovery, spiritual maturity, etc. This Bible edition would be a great resource for anyone who desires to conduct small group studies and foster fellowship in a church. Although this particular edition is themed for men, with a "rugged" wood-grain cover image of men building a structure, it is suitable for anyone who is interested in a study Bible with lots of extra "helps" for developing and structuring individual and group study, including step-by-step instructions for starting a group Bible study in one's church. Some ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Churches of America) congregations are using this Bible edition as a tool to increase fellowship and involvement among the men in the congregation, by passing out a copy to each man in attendance, encouraging the formation of men's groups, retreats, etc. that use it. With the many study aids available in this edition, it is helping to increase Bible literacy and awareness in men who might otherwise find older editions too intimidating or not understandable. It also is geared toward drawing out otherwise uncommunicative men into fellowship through the use of various easy, medium, and hard discussion questions/topics.
