When night fell on the lawless streets of old San Francisco, Matthew Covington--seemingly just another wealthy society idler--became the mysterious crime-fighter known as the Black Bandit. Nothing could tempt him to reveal his secret identity, until the English gentleman met Georgia Waterhouse, whose pseudonymous newspaper accounts had made his daring exploits famous. He was coming to care deeply for this woman, who shared his passionate devotion to justice--and the Lord--but she could never know he was her shadow-shrouded hero. What would become of their growing love if he revealed the truth that lay behind the mask...'
i loved this book. there is enough mystery and romance in it for the most demanding reader. the writing was really good and the christian theme exceptionally strong. the plot was rather original. it was a small book, read pleasantly, but not easily forgotten. it was quite unlike anything i have ever read(and i read a lot!) i look forward to reading it again!
Masked by Moonlight, a great story!

This is a wonderfully written story, one you won't want to put down. This was my first read by this author and I can't wait to read her next book, Bluegrass Hero. If Allie does come out with another book to continue, Masked by Moonlight, I will definitely pick it up. I was a little hesitant to read this book, not seeming as something that would interest me...but boy was I wrong. The story took a totally different course then what my first impression of the cover and even the first few pages, brought to mind. I love where Allie took the story and her writing is amazing. The story is one that I could imagine actually happening, which took me by surprise. It was very insightful, giving me many moments, connecting with how I feel, yet putting it into words I could not. I love the two main characters, and would love to read about Stewart. As bad as he was, I would love to see God work in his life, having some heroine come along to save him from the life he had made for himself. And then maybe getting a glimpse into what Matthew and Georgia are doing...like adding to their family.
great author and a fun (yet unique) Zorro-like story.

Allie has quickly become one of my favorite authors from Steeple Hill. I love her books. (The Perfect Blend and My So-Called Love Life were hysterical!) This one did not disappoint at all. A great escapade set in the 1800's. Although the hero does eventually don cape and mask for the good, it is a very interesting plot to the Zorro persona. Georgia discovers she can write and inadvertently creates Matthew, the hero's undercover character. Throw in a grand ball and a surprising twist at the end and you have a great story.

Masked By Moonlight was, dare I say, one of the best books I have yet read in Steeple Hill's historical line. I could hardly put the book down long into the night. I had read Allie Pleiter's book The Perfect Blend and loved it as well so I had high hopes for this story. It lived up to those hopes. BUY MASKED BY MOONLIGHT! I definitely didn't regret it.
