Marriage and Death Notices from the (Charleston) Times, 1800-1821
No Customer Reviews
This work contains abstracts of vital records that appeared in "The (Charleston) Times" during its twenty-one years of existence. A surprising number of entries come from the up-country districts of Abbeville and Pendleton, as well as from the "burned" districts of Beaufort and Colleton. The marriage records give the names of the newlyweds, place of residence of one or both, date of the marriage, and frequently the name of the bride's father. The death notices supply name, age, and date of death, and sometimes place of residence, place of birth, occupation, cause of death, and names of family members.
