The Market Guide For Young Writers

This book is not only extremely helpful with great resources for young writers to send material, the names of the contests and magazines are categorized with a decription of criteria the company wants in manuscripts, pay, time it takes for them to get back to you, and recent publicatons byt the company. These small decriptions are very brief with all of the needed details right in front of you. This is a great resource for writers who are just getting started and even writers who have written for a long time and are looking for new experiences.

Awsome!

I read it, I loved it, I wrote GOOD POETRY. There. I spoke my peace. I have almost finished a young adult novel, well, following this book, I will send it to a publish and my bet is it will be published. Hah. I love this book. So many publishing oppertunities, it makes my head spin. . . Take my advice and read it, if you 9-99 and want to be published.

A great book!

I love this book, it is really good. I want to become a writer myself, this book is just absoulutly the thing to read! I love it!

A great resource for young writers

Many adults have trouble with the reality that writing is a real job, but still more think that young writers are only practicing -- that they're not good quite yet. Kathy Henderson treats young writers with the respect and dignity they deserve, and offers loads of relevant tips and ideas. This book is a great introduction to marketing your work as a young writer, and has the most comprehensive listing of publishers who print the writings of young writers available anywhere.

A Great Book for Teen Writers

I recieved this book when I was twelve and now a little over a year later I've been published multiple times and I'm a correspondent on a national teen magazine. This book helped me accomplish getting my short stories and poems published. The first part gives you writing advise and shows you how to format your manuscripts. The second part introduces you to some young writers and editors. The last part lists hundreds of markets and contests for your manuscript. This is a book no young writer should be without.
