The work of Mario Corea explores the role of architecture as the generator of urban concepts, tactics and strategies. Much of the work from his Barcelona studio has been community facilities on a variety of scales including hospitals and health care centers, as well as educational and sports facilities. This book comprises a selection of 28 works and projects from 1985 to the present for sites ranging from Barcelona to the Balearic Islands to Patagonia. The projects are organized into five thematic areas which relate their specific location to their function in the construction of the city: Intersections, Sutures, Articulations - Borders, Topographies and Megaforms. The book features an introduction by Francisco Jorge Liernur and an interview by Fredy Massad and Alicia Guerrero Yeste.
