i thought, since i was getting the autobiography, that there was no way i needed to have 2 manson books. but i saw a review that said, 'a great gap-filler!' and even though marilyns book was very satisfying, i decided i would take a chance. this book is really great, it has a lot of mansons very own quotes, and even though berkowitz is somewhat harsh, it is understandable he feels that way. it was very well written and includes trivial, yet wonderful little goods like the fact that brian warner favors calvin klein boxer briefs & the 9 satanic statements. a few nice photos and interviews. this is mostly about marilyn manson the band, not just mm the persona, or mm the person for that matter.

The best book I have ever read in my life. I don't understand how a person could go through all that and still go on with his life... I always tell people that diss manson to at least read his book once. and than tell me what they think... I love this man and his book!!!!The long hard road out of hell.-Sher

If you want another side to the Manson story, read it. This book follows the same timeline as the autobiography, but from other people's points of view, as well as through many direct Manson quotes. But BEWARE: this book was obviously written after Daisy Berkowitz left the band and it seems much of the info was provided by him. But no matter, the book attempts to explain some things that most people (even Manson fans) overlook, and is definitely worthwhile for anyone who uses his/her brain.

Though not the actual autobiography of Marilyn Manson this book gives you a good idea of what he went thtough as a child and the circumstances that created Marilyn Manson as we know him today. Though I had a lot of Ill will tward him before, now that I have read the book I see the kinder side of him. It's a good read at a great price.
