Presents the life stories of Marie Curie, dicoverer of radium, polonium, and natural radiation, and her daughter Irene Joliot-Curie, discoverer of artificial radiation.
Although I initially balked at the price of this book, I now feel that I got my money's worth. It's very high quality paper and binding (I think) and it has many photos that I have never seen anywhere else. It reads well as a short biography for those adults who aren't up to the usual massive Curie bio. I think it would be good for junior high and high school readers. I think it deals well with the alleged affair with Paul Langevin. Adults who know about the incident will want more details and will have to go to a full-length bio to get them. Middle-schoolers will probably not know that they are missing anything. I think it is a well-written bio for its target age group and will also be a good read for adults who want the general picture without too much detail.
