Marco

By Philip William Tropea

Book Overview

Marco Santoro, a tenor superstar born in Brooklyn, NY, is attacked by an unknown life-threatening situation, which drives him to the crossroads of his life and career. Marco's doctor wants him to have a psychiatric evaluation. Marco escapes and hides from family, associates, and fans who adore him. This dramatic and uplifting story is drawn from both the author's and his mom's experiences as singers, which were a tragic parallel. The action begins in New York and moves to Sicily, France, and finally Rome as the Music World 'burns' with gossip of the incomprehensible disappearance of Marco Santoro. Marco develops a working friendship with a blind conductor, a genius shunned by orchestras and impresarios, which thrusts both men to the greatest challenge and performance of their lives
