A scientific model of personality is presented which provides a common theoretical basis for the models of Freud, Jung (Myers-Briggs, Socionics), the various architects of the Enneagram, and Marston (DISC), and thus proves the validity of their underlying principles. The model, called the Mental Trilemma, defines human behavior in terms a trade-off between action, consideration and learning. The model indicates that the 16 Myers-Briggs types are mutually related and ordered in a specific way.
