This article reports and analyses personal and institutional experience in relation to the development of cultural diversity in the Amazon, reflecting participation in the Socio-Cultural Mapping Module of the T na Rede Project, which was developed by the Institute for Relational Politics (IPR), sponsored by the Global Libraries of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and supported by the National System of Public Libraries (SNBP) and the Par Cultural Foundation (FCP). It deals with educational practice, awareness, valorisation and respect for the cultures of the Amazon. She concludes that this experience shows how much the population is unaware of the cultures, practices and knowledge that exist in the Amazon.
