This book is easy to read, well organized and invites introspection. It takes the Edgar Cayce follower to a new understanding of karma. Every page finds me consulting with the Lord. Profound read.

A Profoundly Persuasive Book on Reincarnation

I still remember how I 'accidentally' discovered this book in the summer of 1972 when I was supposed to do my education dissertation.I spent days carefully reading Many Mansions and at the end of it my whole perspective on life had changed. Dr. Cerminara is logical and thorough. Very few people can read this with an open mind and not be changed by its world view. There was also a personal 'happening' with the book. While I was re-reading it a second time in 1973 it disappeared for a few days. Later my father returned it with the laconic comment:" She's right. We live many lives." I was surprised because we were a Catholic family and I didn't want to cause waves with my new found views. In December of that year my father died. I was able to accept his death as one more journey since I felt reassured by his comment. I knew that he was alive but in another dimension. This thought was rewarded by a very vivid dream soon after his death. One night I dreamt him holding a candle. He told me I should light one to symbolise the continuation of life. Then he disappeared in a rushing wind. I sudddenly awoke to find the window near to my bed wide open. I had carefully closed it before I had gone to bed because my mother had reminded me to do so. Also a prized framed photo of my father lay broken on the floor.I felt that somehow my father had reached out to confirm what he had said about Cerminara's book. I think many will be comforted when they read this book. The examples of the subtlety and complexity of the law of karma will stun many. Dr.Cerminara allowed me to look beyond many experiences I have had in this life and intuit what karmic lessons I needed to learn. I am delighted that this book is still available. Reading it could change your view of life and its purpose. I also read two other books that Cerminara did using the Cayce readings. They were 'Many Lives,Many Loves' and 'The World Within'. If you find them you could continue the interesting journey into the world of the Akashic records, karma and reincarnation.

A Thought Provoking Book!

I have read 11 "Edgar Cayce" books, but "Many Mansions" is the MOST thought provoking book of them all! It'll make you think twice before harming anyone. It'll make you think about your own lfe, and why people suffer in different ways, and the whole purpose of life in general. This is DEFINATELY a MUST READ!

Well thought out and inspirational book

I have to say of all the books dealing with Edgar Cayce's readings this is one of the best. The writing is on a par with Mr. Sugru's book even though it has more of a textbook quality to it rather than a biography. I have caught other books on Mr. Cayce's readings and philosophy, even one by his son Hugh Lynn, occasionally playing fast and loose with scriptural references but this one has yet to throw up any red flags to me. I look forward to giving copies of it to my family and re-reading it many times. Our Christian faith has developed a distinct case of self-worship, worship of the traditions rather than the underlying facts that brought them about, and my general departure from church gatherings is a result of it. Mr. Cayce was emphatic that the readings information not be a basis for any new religion and he was correct in that demand. Books such as this can, eventually, bring our faith back to what Christ intended it to be rather than what Constantine and his gang of bishops devised in the, what, second century C.E.?

The case for perfect justice in the world

Cerminara demonstrates the enormous reasonableness of the doctrine of reincarnation. In the process, she also makes a strong case for the existence of perfect justice in the world, despite appearances to the contrary. Her arguments are illustrated by excerpts from the Edgar Cayce readings, but one need not accept these readings to appreciate the force of Cerminara's argument. Read this book and learn to take the LONG view of things. You'll be glad you did.

This book proves the reality of reincarnation and karma.

I was delighted to see that this book is still in print. I read it more than 20 years ago and it still remains close to the top of my short list of books that truly changed my life. The author, a Phd psychologist, examines the readings of Edgar Cayce and presents her results in such a clear and logical manner that it is difficult to argue with her conclusions. Soul is eternal, reincarnation and karma are real, life is a school. She traces the karmic causes of most diseases and other negative conditions and shows how justice is served through many lifetimes. She does not neglect the effects of positive karma. In the end, it is all grist for the mill of soul: wealth, poverty, hardship, etc.; just opportunities for soul to unfold and discover it's own divine nature. She gives example after example that are so concrete and real that they will give the most hardened sceptic pause. For someone like myself who was raised to be an intellectual and a nonbeliever, this material was a real revelation. This book was one of the foundations of my spiritual education. Most importantly, I was able to confirm the author's conclusions with my own experience which is the only thing that counts in matters spiritual. Highly recommended!
