Marcus Amaker is an award-winning web designer, graphic designer, videographer, musician and author. He started a design business in 2011 after 12 years in journalism, including three years as editor of the Post and Courier's weekly arts newspapers, Preview and Charleston Scene.As a designer, he's created logos, websites and videos for many organizations and entrepreneurs in Charleston, SC and Brooklyn, NY.As a musician, his albums can be found on iTunes, Spotify and other digital music services. He recently released a spoken word/jazz album, "The New Foundation," with Grammy nominated drummer and producer Quentin E. Baxter.As an author, Marcus has toured the country and performed for national TV. His poems can be found in several volumes, including "Home Is Where: An Anthology of African American Poetry from the Carolinas," "Seeking: Poetry and Prose Inspired by the Art of Jonathan Green" and "My South: A People, A Place, A World of Its Own." Marcus' sixth collection or poetry, "Mantra," combines poetry, photography and graphic design. "Mantra" is also an app, available for iPhone and Android devices.
