Mania is the feral feminine life force churning inside all of us. It is, at times, self-destructive, ecstatic, frenzied, free. Drawing on familial and Filipino American cultural histories, on a Catholic upbringing turned into a queer coming-into-oneself, Mania is a ritualized celebration of power amidst the untethering, loneliness, and grief of young adulthood, a homecoming amidst a loss of home. Mania is a rejection of oppression at the most bodily level and an occult attempt at relieving personal and societal wounds.
