HOT, HOT, HOT!!

This book took sensuality to a whole new level. This is a love story about a woman Delphine who was raised by her mother (a famous mistress) to be a successful and very skillful mistress, one only meant for a rich man. Michael is a widower, who fell into a life of drink and sorrow after his wife died in childbirth, the baby a stillborn. Guy his best friend and Guy's lover Francoise (Delphine's Mom) abduct him and take him to a deserted Island, where the lovely Delphine who has been hired to pleasure him is awaiting his arrival. Their plan is that Delphine, with her sexual skills can bring him back to life and secure her place in life by becoming his mistress. Of course no one expects Michael to become a madman possessed by this temptress's charms. Will they find what they need in each other's arms? This is a must read to find out!!

Mango Bango!!

What a treat! This story rocks!! I dearly love all historicals, but Phoebe Conn is a true talent. Her characters are not cardboard, stilted, or otherwise bookish. You feel their emotions as if they were your own. The story is about a man called Michael who has given up his life in the pursuit of drink. He feels guilty in letting his wife down who died while giving birth to his son. Even though he didn't love her, he has no self worth anymore. Micheal is determined not to feel or love anyone, including himself. His friend Guy, with the help of Guys' lover, Francoise, take Michael to an island to dry out. There, Micheal finds a beauty named Delphine. She is gifted with the sensual arts of love. Can Delphine save Michael from destruction? Bravo Ms. Conn. Can't wait til the next one comes out.

well written regency romance

In 1816 England Lord Michael Mallory has spent the past year either drunk until he would drop unconscious or mourning the deaths of wife and stillborn son if he remained awake. His best friend, worried about Michael's mental state, abducts him when he is in his normal state of drunkenness and unable to fight back; he dumps Michael on a deserted island with one exception, Delphine Antoine, a trained temptress awaits the laird as she has been hired to pleasure Michael. Michael is outraged by the gall of his friend and not having alcohol available to dull his ache. However, soon between the serenity of his locale and Delphine's gentle soothing, he begins to move past his grief. As Michael and Delphine begin to fall in love, he wants her with him forever, but she knows that she can only be his mistress; a relationship she cannot deal with because she loves her Michael. Readers who ignore realism will fully appreciate this fun well written regency romance. The story line is driven by the lead characters especially the metamorphosis of Michael from a man who wants to die to someone who has everything to live for. Sub-genre fans will enjoy spending MANGO SUMMER with Michael and Delphine. Harriet Klausner
