Mandie's back at school

I liked this Mandie book better than the previous three (numbers 21, 22, 23). Mandie is finally starting to get back in her element! The new school year is just beginning and Mandie is already getting blamed for things she didn't do. Troubles begin when she finds a leaking jar of molasses in her bag. Everything worsens though, as someone is definitely trying to make Mandie look bad and get into trouble with the head mistress. To top it off however, Mandie has other problems on her mind, like the potential buyers of her school! She knows she won't like them and many of the other girls at school feel the same way. There's another thing eating at Mandie's brain.. Where has her grandmother disappeared to without telling anyone? I did like reading this story, and I hope the books that are next in line will be just as good.

LOVE These Books

I teach 4-6th graders and I bought these to try and interest the girls but I have found that the boys enjoy these books also. I have purchased several of the Mandie books and they are excited when I add a new one. They fight over who will read it first.

This book will surprise even the most seasoned Mandie reader

Mandie is back in school, but things are different. Miss Prudence and Miss Hope are selling the school, and there is a possibility that if the school changes headmistresses, Celia might be sent to a different school. On top of that, Polly, Mandie's conniving neighbor is at school with them!And if it couldn't get worse, an invisible troublemaker comes and makes things difficult for Mandie. Can Mandie find the troublemaker, cope with Polly, and save the school at the same time?This book is quite interesting. At first I thought the troublemaker was one of Mandie's schoolmates, but I was wrong. I guarantee that you'll be surprised at the ending as I was.

A captivating mystery

Hi! I'm 14, and my name is Virginia Sulpy. I consider myself a sort of expert at critiquing Mandie books, since I have read every single one of them at least 5 times. This book is very good, and provides quite a bit of mystery. Someone is doing awful things, like putting the headmistress's private files about the school in Mandie's and her friend's room. Mandie gets caught a few times putting them back, and she even gets suspended. One of the mysterious things that is going on is that her grandmother is not home, which is unusual. It turns out that she had been looking for Hilda, a deranged girl who Mandie found. Then to stir things up even more, the students at the school are planning to protest against the potential buyers of the school. Thier plans are cut short by the news of President McKinley, who was shot. This story is very realistic, and the author has had a field day of desciption. Looking at the other books in the series, this one does not tend to stick in your mind. However, don't pass this one by!!! THANK YOU, MRS LEPPARD! Keep it up!
