A book you can't put down

This book is hard to put down because its' secrets are not revealed until the very end. Mandie returns from her trip, unaware that her mother is lying in bed, close to death and that her little brother Samuel has died. Not being able to sleep, she has a visit from an angel, who tells her "you will know, you will know". She contacts a doctor she knows, without telling the docter who is already looking after her mother. She keeps hearing this voice saying "So you are Amanda," but she does not no saying this. You have to ready this amazing book to find out what happens next. This book is perfectly written and is a heart-warming story.

Sad...But A Thrilling Mystery

When Mandie, her best friend, and her grandmother return from their trip to Europe, Mandie expects something is wrong. No one tells her anything, but when she returns home, her house is full of strangers dressed in black. When she finds that her baby brother has died, and her mother is near death, she blams her grandmother for not telling her. This book is full of emotions, but a side from those there is a thrilling mystery to be solved.

Really good... but sad...

I enjoyed reading this book and thought it was very touching. It was a shame about Mandie's little brother... she never got to know him. I also thought it was sad when Mandie and Celia had to say goodbye to Jonathan. I enjoyed reading about their adventures in Europe and I will miss his character in the upcoming books. I hope the author will continue writing about him in future books (in addition to "Mandie and Jonathan's Predicament" and "The Unwanted Gift"). Despite the sad events in the book, it had a happy ending with the mystery of the angel solved. This was a very good book. I'd advise anyone, regardless of age, to read it and all the other great Mandie books!

An uplifting and emotional book.

I think it is amazing how Mandie's brother visits her as an angel in this book. I cried a lot throught different parts of the book. This was the first Mandie book I had gotten, and at the time was eight years old. I have thus far collected the whole series, and I am now 16. I love the Mandie books. They are a great source of inspiration for when you are having difficult times, they have wonderful christian values, they uplift your spirits, and they have a mystery attatched to them! Keep on writing!

It was excellent

I think it was cool because her mom was dying and her baby brother who she hated had just dyed and a angle came to her in the middle of the night and comforted her. And her mother got well. THe mandie series are like the best books in the world.
