If someone told me five years ago that I would be living in Indian Himalayas, I would probably respond that he was insane. In Moscow I spent fifteen years working at ad agencies. I worked on things like video and outdoor advertisements, international and local campaigns, etc. I started as a Designer and became a Creative Director. And, by the way, I always loved my job. I do some freelance from India even now.I used to go abroad for holidays or for business. I travelled a lot and once went across India through Agra, Varanasi, Jaipur, Delhi and Mumbai. Frankly I had never been a fan of big Asian cities. Many would disagree with me, but dirt, smell, traffic, overcrowding and lack of basic conveniences are not my cup of tea. I like mostly ocean coast and mountainous part of India. My life turned upside down in 2013. In a good way. To make a long story short: I married an Indian guy and we had a son. Our little family decided to try ourselves in hospitality business in Indian Himalayas. We rented a big villa with an apple garden on a hillside for several years and ran a small hotel. Then we rented bigger hotel -- with 30 rooms. We now live here from May till October each year. We came to love this place a lot: incredible nature resembling the elves' country in "The Lord of The Rings", very clean and thinly populated area, mild climate. Indians from big cities started to travel to these places only ten years ago. For most of them this is as uncharted territory as it is for me. Even foreigners have travelled to Indian Himalayas as early as the 1970s, American hippies came first. Our guests often ask for our advice on where to go and what to look for in the surrounding mountains. We are also interested in discovering new places and that's why we drive and walk in the Himalayas a lot. It turned out that there is not a lot of information on the Internet about our valley. We have not found good travel guides either. So I decided to write my own guidebook about the Kullu valley.
