This manual addresses the problem of managing boreholes equipped with Human Powered Pumps (HPP) in the commune of Doulougou located in the province of Baz ga, Centre-Sud region. It is part of the context of the National Drinking Water Supply Program adopted in 2016. This program aims to achieve universal access to drinking water by 2030 in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals to which Burkina Faso has subscribed. It makes a diagnosis of the current management of the PMH in the rural commune of Doulougou. It shows that the commune of Doulougou has 174 boreholes equipped with Human Powered Pumps (HPP) with a functionality rate of 86.2%. These various facilities have contributed to achieving a 91.0% access rate to drinking water for the commune's population. The study also shows that the management system for the PMHs applied in the villages is community management. However, the principles defined by the reform of the management system for water supply infrastructure in rural and semi-urban areas are not fully respected.
