Father Emil Cook is amazing! Learn about him and your life can be changed for the better.

"Man on a Mission" offers practical inspiration.

By telling the story of a simple, faithful American priest who has saved and educated thousands in Latin America and Africa, this book makes clear that being superman is not a requirement for serving God and others. Fr. Emil Cook, artfully captured by author Barbara Pawlikowski, simply sees a problem and feels challenged to do what he can. From this conviction, he has inspired hundreds of volunteers, former students, donors and others to do what they can. As a result, more than 1,000 children in Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Liberia are fed, housed and educated annually in 15 institutions. Thankfully, Fr. Cook is no martyr but brims with good cheer and humility. It's enough to make you stop complaining and do something useful. Christopher D. Ringwald, author of A Day Apart: How Jews, Christians and Muslims Find Faith, Freedom and Joy on the Sabbath (Oxford, 2007) and Faith in Words (ACTA, 1997).
