Man Of The Forest

Crooked Clint Beasley is determined to steal rich timberland from his neighbor Jim Gaynor by kidnapping his niece, Alice Gaynor, the rightful heir to the land. Rugged trapper Brett Dale learns of the plot and escorts Alice to safety. His plan thwarted, Beasley murders Jim Gaynor and frames Brett for the crime. Dale must escape the hangman's noose and clear his name to save Alice from losing her inheritance.

Randolph Scott, a college-educated Virginia gentleman who took up motion-picture acting as a lark, found himself typed as a Western leading man in the early 1930s and became a genre icon. Legendary director Henry Hathaway is best known for directing John Wayne in numerous Western classics such as his Oscar winning performance in True Grit (1969). Some of his most notable films include Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935), The Desert Fox: The Story of Rommel (1951), Niagara (1953) and The Sons of Katie Elder (1965).
