A collection of my favorite recipes I invented, adapted, or was given by friends and family. There are also photos of family, friends, and foods. Desserts are first! Lots of cookies, some amazing candies, and other desserts. Then spreads, sandwich, and salad. A section is devoted to main dishes from countries around the world: Bangladesh, Middle East, Thailand, Indonesia, Spain, Italy, Jewish specialties, Mexico, Hungary, Africa and Brazil. I love all these different cuisines and flavors! You will too, and some of the meals are really easy to prepare! Finally, there are a couple of gluten-free recipes and several other main dishes to try, along with tips and discoveries I found helpful.Several of the dishes from around the world are terrific party foods! I especially recommend the the Thai Khao Soi, the Indonesian Rice Taffel, and Brazilian Feijoada, as these are easy to prepare. The hardest part in these recipes is cutting up the condiments! Except for the desserts, which usually have butter and sugar, I try to make everything as healthy as possible. I cut way down on fats, use olive oil, reduce sugar and keep calories low. Lots of fresh veggies and fruits too. You will love trying these tastes. Wait until you bite into piece of Maple Butter Brickle, smothered in chocolate with toasted almonds! Or Moqueca de Peixe e Camarao, the Brazilian fish and shrimp stew in coconut milk with fresh ginger, onions, and tomato. And so many more! Yum!
