Fun movie on its terms

We all know the fairytale "Sleeping Beauty." Some of us from books, some of us from movies, some of us from both. So, as hard as we try, we find ourselves coming to this movie with preconceptions. However, you will find that the fewer preconceptions you have, the more intriguing the movie becomes. Without going into too much detail, so that this film will still be a surprise to you, we find the true nature of the evil godmother Maleficent, played mostly by Angela Jolie. By the way, can you spot Vivienne Jolie-Pitt as Aurora (at 5 yrs?) Be prepared for a modified story. If the writers and producers miraculously can make sense of good and evil, the real sleeping beauty, a true lover's kiss, and a fairytale that you will want to pull off the shelves and watch periodically for the rest of your life.
