this book depicts the real malcolm in his own setting. the editor is a long time resident of the city and grew up in harlem, went to holy cross and harvard and has a law degree from nyu. he has been able to cut the wheat from the shaft. from accepting white praise such as "he's a credit to his race", as was said about joe louis, this book shows how malcolm told it like it was rather than accepting white glad handers as louis did. my final comment, has anyone heard of a white person being "a credit to his race"? i think what it really means is that most people of color are not so and when one toes the line they get the "credit" moniker. ronbo.
