What prompted me to write a self-help book like this is my disillusionment as a teacher with thousands of parents and their crude parenting methodologies. I knew that as a psychologist and counsellor I had to do something fruitful to improve contemporary parenting, and that is how I came to the idea of bringing up this book. We learn parenting skills from our own parents. However, parenting styles of our parents may not be right as they might have just followed the wrong methods of their own parents. All the parents I have met so far, with the exception of one or two, in spite of high education and reputed jobs, are found to be lacking right parenting skills, though their intention is always to help children build a future. Unfortunately, methods they have used are not empowering but are downgrading. Their decisions are more emotional than scientific. The ideas discussed in this book are backed by my own successful employment of them in my life as a father. All parents, however, must reflect themselves for a while with patience while implementing the techniques implicitly narrated in the book. The easiest thing to do is to neglect it with numerous excuses. However, the deepest satisfaction of raising a smart child, in all sense, is that it is the greatest work parents can do in their lifetimes.
