Make It Happen!: The Life and Times of The Groovemaster, Jerry Jemmott 2nd Edition including Human Livestock: 2nd Edition including Human Livestock

Jerry Jemmott is a two-time Grammy Award winning bassist and recent Honored Enlistee into Who's Who; this 2nd Edition including Human Livestock tells his story with additional photos and the after story of his amazing life as a key architect of the Atlantic Records and Muscle Shoals sound of the 1960s & 1970s. Despite learning difficulties from childhood traumatic brain injuries he discovered his unique talent and became a professional musician at the age of twelve . "It was always sink, or swim; or just jump in". The bass gave him a vehicle and voice in which to navigate this road we call life. Jerry's body of work provided the soundtrack to the Civil Rights Era. He played on Nina Simone's "Ain't Got No/I Got Life", Gil Scott Heron's "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised", Aretha Franklin's "Think" & "I'll Say A Little Prayer", The Rascals "People Got To be Free", B.B. King's "Why I Sing The Blues" & "The Thrill is Gone", Wilson Pickett's "Hey Jude", Archie Shepp's "Attica Blues" , Jerry Jeff Walker's "Mr. Bojangles", Irene Reid's "My Way" and albums by , Freddie King, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Roberta Flack and the crème de la crème of Jazz, Soul, Blues, Pop and Rhythm 'n Blues artist. He was also the interviewer in Modern Electric Bass video with Jaco Pastorius and more recently had a starring role in the feature documentary Jaco , along with live televised performances with Gregg Allman and with Aretha Franklin on Late Night with David Letterman, and his work has been heavily sampled by artist like Kanye West & Lil' Kim and others.. This second edition includes many new images and his explosive, scandalous, eye-opening expose "Human Livestock"; circa 2004 where he speaks of the Niggerization of mankind and other problems confronting the human race at this very moment; and solutions. Malcolm X taught us " Once You Change your Philosophy" You Change Your Thought Pattern, Once You Change Your Thought Pattern You Change Your Attitude, Once You Change Your Attitude You Change your Behavior" Then you're ready to go into some action." It all comes down to the Unity of Purpose, or simply the Mystic Law of Cause and Effect that brought you to this book. It takes four fingers and a thumb, to make a fist. Make it happen; freedom and justice for all. Whachagonnado?
