Most small towns in the era of mystical experimentation had their own "home grown wizards." These were merely amateur magicians that could create a puff of smoke out of thin air or polymorph a rabbit into a frog. But the true essence of magic was realized through continuous training by one great wizard, Alistair. Although his power was great, the villagers believed Alistair had a dark side and over the years formed stories that mixed fact with fiction. Alistair was not the only one with a dark side, however, as demons and unspeakable evil roamed the earth, unfettered and constantly in search of a weakness to exploit. Greed, envy, hatred; these are truly untamable monsters waiting to rise to the surface. Perhaps the greatest of monsters aren't those that roam in the shadows of the world, but those that reside within the darkness of our hearts.
