Daughter Very Happy With It

Maisy's books are a favorite for our daughter and the included CD is narrated very well. Recommended!

Holiday Spirit!

It is Christmas Eve, and Maisy has invited her friends to a party at her house. Cyril, Charley, and Tallulah all make it to Maisy's house through the falling snow. But too much snow has fallen on Eddie, the loveable elephant, and he is stuck. Oh no! The friends work together to help Eddie so they can all have a safe, happy holiday celebration. Maisy is a popular mouse among preschoolers, and rightfully so. The stories are gentle, and each has something to teach. In this particular book, young children will learn the importance of watching out for your friends. What could have been a scary situation for Eddie turns into a happy occasion because his friends come to help. My four-year-old daughter, who is mildly autistic, is a huge fan of Maisy, both on Noggin(tm) and in books. With so much violent and crass programming out there, this has been a wonderful series, and my little girl is thrilled to see it in print, as am I. Another enjoyable feature is the read-along CD included with this book. After reading the story to my daughter several times, it was a fun change to just sit and hold her while the CD played the story. HIGHLY recommended. Reviewed by Christina Wantz Fixemer 11/20/2006

Christmas Eve with Maisy and Her Pals

If you are the parent of a young child, you probably know who Maisy is. She's a mouse with a duck, a squirrel, an elephant, and a crocodile for friends. Why the crocodile isn't trying to eat the others is beyond me, but that's life in Maisy's workd.Both of my daughters love the Maisy books; there's something about their simple stories and colorful pictures that even appeals to adults. The books are short and easy to read. But, the stories are never obnoxiously simplistic, like so many other books for small children.This is one of the latest Maisy books and one of the few to get the hardcover treatment. It's also slightly longer than the typical Maisy tale. It's Christmas Eve at Maisy's and everyone has arrived but Eddie (Maisy's elephant friend). The friends search for Eddie and then must rescue him from a snow drift where he is stuck. Will they succeed? I guess you'll have to read it to find out.
