Maine Gravestones and Flags: Honoring our Heroes

Maine is well known for its involvement in the wars for our country's freedom. The more you look into the Revolutionary War and War of 1812, the more you find heroic stories of veterans and their fight for freedom. Patriots farming their fields one day and the next facing Napoleonic War Era British Soldiers with Rocket Boats.Maine is also known for its lost Cemeteries that once had family and friends to take care of them. These cemeteries now hundreds of years later, are forgotten and discarded to the ravages of time. With this book I intend to show that in these abandoned cemeteries there are our Country's Veterans, without flags and in some cases with broken stones, waiting to be remembered for their sacrifice, from a country they loved.
