Best Yet!!

This series is just getting better and better. I really liked this story and unlike the previous books in this series, I was really kept guessing right up until the end. This book is a quick read, it will keep you laughing all the way through it and it will keep you guessing. That is my definition of the perfect cozy mystery. I'm already looking forward to Ms. Calvert's next book even though I know it will be a while before it is released!! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun and entertaining read.

Mai Tai Winner

This is the best Darcy mystery to date. I laughed and giggled all the way through and oh those crazy characters!! You must read just to meet Gertie. Mystery, mayhem and an inside peek into the publishing world. Holds your interest and makes you laugh. Does'nt get any better than that!!!

Another fun...and deadly cruise!

Candy Calvert's third book in her Darcy Cavanaugh series is another winner. And this time, Darcy is in the midst of a cruise ship full of crazy mystery writes and an even crazier, scathing literary agent. Her workshop on how to commit murder is apparently being taken seriously by one of the passengers. Darcy and her cigar-chomping best friend Marie find themselves entangled in another round of sleuthing when Darcy's boyfriend's mother, on-board as an aspiring writer, becomes the main suspect in the agent's murder. The book is full of the usual wit and mayhem, and plenty of amusing jabs at the book writing business itself. It's sure to entertain any reader who loves cozies. I know I loved it!

DON'T MISS THIS WRITERS' CRUISE - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I loved MAI TAI TO MURDER. I laughed at the picture of Darcy's pal and fellow ER nurse, Marie, doing the limbo with a cigar clenched in her teeth. In fact, I've got that page marked so that I can go back and laugh again. Wonderful! Loved that the book is set at a writer's convention at sea. Readers get a sneak peak at writers, agents and editors with all their foibles and desires, admittedly exaggerated at times. But what an original idea! Candy Calvert has gotten better and better with each book she writes. Absolutely fantastic read. The excerpt on the author's website caught me and when I got the book in my hot little hands, I couldn't wait to get home and start reading. Once I started, I didn't stop reading until I finished it. Then, I went back and re-read several parts of it. Don't miss the squawking parrot and the nasty agent who rejects manuscripts while guzzling Mai Tais. If you like a great story, well developed characters with romance, mystery and humor thrown in, then you'll love MAI TAI TO MURDER.

This series keeps getting better and better

Darcy Cavanaugh has seen her share of mayhem and murder, but when she boards a cruise ship to the Carribean, she's hoping to leave all of that behind her. She's agreed to teach a "Nurse's Guide to Murder" class as part of a writers' workshop at sea. Instead, Darcy and Marie find themselves in the middle of a real life murder mystery. Add a bunch of crazy writers, overzealous fans, publishing gurus and - to Darcy's dismay - her boyfriend's disapproving mother - and you have a recipe for, well, fun! It's a wild ride and I enjoyed every minute of it. This series just keeps getting better and better. And the opening to this book is fantastic. I've read a lot of cozy mysteries and I've never seen one begin this way. Bravo to Ms. Calvert for crafting a truly unique, funny and sweet approach to traditional mystery storytelling. I couldn't have had more fun with it.
