Maggie McMason wants to trade in her life for a new one... pronto. The monotony of her community in Oakwood, Florida would be unbearable enough without the added bonus of having to deal with the less-than-pleasant people that live there. Jana Marshall, Oakwood High School's most popular (a.k.a. most evil) student has made it her life's mission to make Maggie miserable and she has the support of the entire student body. Maggie's classmates take great pleasure in making her their human target for all verbal and physical attacks (paper ball tag, anyone?). On top of this, Maggie's home life isn't exactly peachy. Of course, that's completely impossible... Everything changes just before Maggie's seventeenth birthday though. Nothing and no one is what or who they seem... including Maggie. Everything changes and Maggie's world is about to be turned upside down. The life she desires most is closer than she thinks, but the question is, will it be simply magical or a complete nightmare?
