Good but dated

While this was THE reference on Magnetic resonance Imaging for a while, it has been surapssed by many other books and mainly by the one by Robert Edelman.This book suffers a lot from being first published in an era where MRI was the work of real pioneers and physicists; this renders the bok very difficult to read since the authors have very often placed scientific exactitude above didactic teaching. It is quite dated when you consider the things that have happened in the MR world but it does contain basic information on hardware softare etc that is not often available elsewhere. However if you are looking for an up-to-date book on MRI from both a clinical and scientific/technological point of view, you will be better off with the work by Edelman.

The best MRI reference book ever!

Obviously this is not the kind of book to read for light reading but from a reference point of view, it is excellent. I found the musculoskeletal volume very helpful, interesting and extensive. There are many images, well labelled and easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone studying MRI of a particular part of the body.

An MRI Bible

Just to clarify the record.....Stark & Bradley is a bible of a reference work.....an ultimate resource for those serious about clinical MRI instrumentation and procedures. Only Edelman's text attempted this feat but it is now out of date and as far as I know, not scheduled for a 2nd edition.
